I remember my grade 4 teacherĀ Because of Winn Dixie to us, and I remember it being the first time I felt we had conversations as a class about ā€œreal lifeā€ things. This book is a children’s story about human connection, and the changes they make in our lives. For the older grades, here is a small collection of pages to go with any class book, as a space for students to talk about their home lives, the people who are important to them, and human connection in an age appropriate manner. Here is also a link to Because of Winn Dixie.Ā
